Today, we're announcing that Flock AI has raised a $6M Seed round led by Work-Bench, with participation from January Ventures, Red Bike Capital, Outlander VC, AI Furnace, and strategic angels. Total funding is now $7.5M.
The Problem
I spent years in merchandising and creative operations at Bloomingdale's and Walmart. I lived the problem: teams scrambling to produce enough imagery for expanding catalogs, fragmenting channels, and rising personalization expectations, while budgets stayed flat and timelines got shorter.
Traditional photoshoots were built for seasonal campaigns, not continuous content generation across massive catalogs. A single shoot can cost tens of thousands, take months, and produce a fixed set of assets that can't easily adapt across audiences or contexts.
First generation AI tools educated the market on what was possible but also revealed their limits. Generic outputs, zero brand consistency, no workflow integration. For enterprise brands, "almost right" doesn't cut it. Creative teams are willing to adopt AI, but not if it asks them to compromise quality, control, or process.
That's the gap Malavika and I built Flock to fill.
What We've Built
Flock is the AI native content engine for retail, a creative co-pilot that replaces traditional photoshoots with brand accurate imagery at scale, while fitting directly into how teams already work.
At the core is our Brand DNA system: 200+ visual attributes that encode each brand's unique visual language, from lighting and model aesthetics to fabric rendering and detail level accuracy down to every stitch line and zipper.
What sets Flock apart is that our system learns. Every creative approval, every piece of feedback, every conversion data point feeds back through reinforcement learning. The more a brand uses Flock, the better it gets, creating a compounding advantage that generic tools can't replicate.
Teams can generate brand accurate content for ecommerce, editorial, and video at scale, reduce timelines from months to days, and produce inclusive imagery across skin tones, body types, and ages, all without changing how they work. Flock plugs directly into existing DAM and ecommerce systems and delivers production ready assets straight into the pipeline.
Less time on repetitive production. More time on storytelling and experimentation.
Traction
We're already working with billion dollar fashion and beauty brands, with rapid expansion across catalogs and channels.
Brands report up to 90% cost savings versus traditional photoshoots and 30%+ conversion lift from better coverage, faster iteration, and more representative imagery.
During diligence, Work-Bench heard consistent feedback from our customers. A multi-brand apparel company called the results versus their prior solution "night and day." A global luxury retailer that evaluated nearly a dozen vendors said Flock was "the only platform we tested where the images actually looked real." One enterprise retailer generated 5,000 to 6,000 images in a single month and saw roughly a 3 percentage point conversion lift. Another large brand is now replacing meaningful portions of traditional photography entirely.
As one customer team put it: "It's not just a tool, we need someone who understands our workflows and can troubleshoot in real time."
Why Work-Bench
We couldn't be more excited to partner with Work-Bench on this next chapter. They've backed enterprise software companies from seed to scale and what stood out from day one was how deeply they understand the go to market motion. Great product isn't enough; you need distribution, customer relationships, and systems that earn trust at the buyer level. That's exactly what we're building together.
We're also grateful for the participation from January Ventures, Red Bike Capital, Outlander VC, AI Furnace, and our strategic angels, who share our vision for what AI native content infrastructure can become for modern retail.
What's Next
This round accelerates three things: product (expanding into broader commerce workflows, deepening our Brand DNA system, building one to one commerce experiences, and providing insights into creative performance never before possible with AI), team (scaling engineering across R&D, applied ML, and implementation, plus hiring in BD, customer success, and marketing), and go to market (building scalable sales and marketing infrastructure on top of what we've proven through founder led sales).
The vision is one to one commerce, personalized visual content that's as accurate and scalable as a brand's data, built responsibly to reflect every consumer. We're building the infrastructure to make that real.
To our customers, our team, and our investors: thank you. And to every brand still stitching together photoshoots and generic AI tools to keep up, we built Flock for you. Let's talk:vita@flockshop.ai
